Department of Civil Engineering makes Top 5 in Canada

QS World University Rankings ranks Schulich department among top 100 in the world

The QS World University Rankings has ranked the Department of Civil Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering among the top 100 in the world and among the top five civil engineering departments in Canada.

The annual QS World University Rankings provides a snapshot of how hundreds of different universities around the world are performing based on the most recent survey. The reports list the top five institutions in each country for each of 30 different subjects listed, as well as providing details about each country’s overall representation by subject. Students, researchers and other interested users are able to use the QS World University Rankings to compare the world’s best institutions by subject, country and region.

“We are very excited to be recognized for the excellent work we do in the Department of Civil Engineering,” says Dr. Ron Wong, the head of the Civil Engineering Department. “These rankings, placing us among the top in Canada and the world, are an indication of the exceptional caliber of faculty, researchers and students we attract to the Schulich School of Engineering.”

The rankings list the first 50 institutions with individual scores. The next 50 institutions are ranked together as 51-100.

“The Department of Civil Engineering should be proud to be ranked among the finest schools in the world,” says Bill Rosehart, interim dean of the Schulich School of Engineering.
