Hello from the UCalgary Admission Office!

When can I apply?

You can apply for fall 2020 from October 1, 2019 to March 1, 2020. Admission decisions begin in mid-November and are made on a rolling basis based on completed scores at the time of each review.

We’re now accepting applications for fall 2020.

How do I apply?

To be considered for admission, students must apply online and pay the application fee ($125 CAD for students with Canadian credentials, and $145 for students who present international credentials). For complete steps on how to apply, please click here.

When you complete your online application, you can apply to two programs, a first and a second choice. If you receive an offer of admission to your first-choice program, this is the only offer of admission you'll receive  so don’t forget to rank your application choices with your most desired program as your first choice.

Each degree program has specific admission requirements. High school applicants need to present five program-specific courses at the Grade 12 or senior level. For detailed information on program requirements, click here. Admission considerations for all degree programs are competitive and based on the highest level achieved at the time of review.

How will my application be reviewed?

If you submit your application early, the first round of reviews will be based primarily on the Grade 11 subjects that are specifically required for your program. During this round of reviews, a small number of applicants will receive offers beginning in the middle of November. If you don’t receive an offer of admission in November based on your Grade 11 marks, you will be automatically re-reviewed after your first term grades have been received. The majority of UCalgary applicants will receive an offer of admission in mid-February on the basis of their completed Grade 11 and 12 marks that are specific to each program.

Final admission decisions will be issued in the summer months once all final transcripts have been received.

What is a conditional offer of admission?

For students with courses in progress, your offer of admission will be conditional. For international students, this conditional offer of admission should be used to apply for a study permit.

For students who have received a conditional offer of admission, your offer of admission will be finalized when the criteria outlined in the status link of your student centre is completed. Conditional offers of admission require that you maintain the academic average that you were admitted with, present all required high school subjects for your program, and graduate from high school.

If you need any help or support with your application, we recommend that you connect with the student recruitment advisor who specializes in supporting students from your province or region.
