Assist our new students and attend Orientation Town Hall
Year after year, the Ask Me and Greeter programs have helped new University of Calgary students with everything from building and classroom directions through to booking academic advising appointments and obtaining transit passes and a Unicard. Whatever the question, the university’s dedicated base of staff volunteers make it their mission to help new students orient themselves to university life.
Join the growing Ask Me and Greeter program volunteer teams this year, and be a part of new student orientation during the month of September.
Ask Me program
We are seeking student, staff and faculty volunteers to assist with the Ask Me program throughout the month of September. Volunteers wear red “Ask Me” buttons, making them highly visible to students who have questions or need assistance. This important role helps incoming students feel comfortable seeking assistance in their first month. Learn more and sign up today.
Do you have spare time on the morning of Sept. 4? Sign up to be a greeter and assist our new students on their very first day. Between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. our new students will be stepping on to campus for the first time and looking for their orientation groups. Greeters line major traffic routes to assist students in finding their orientation groups and answer common questions on the first morning of Fall Orientation. Volunteers receive complimentary coffee and a red UCalgary t-shirt. Lend your UCalgary knowledge and a friendly face on the first morning of Fall Orientation by signing up today.
Orientation town hall
Join the Leadership and Student Engagement Office in EEEL 161 from 1 to 2 p.m. on Aug. 15 for the Fall Orientation town hall meeting. Learn what students, staff, and faculty can expect from the changes coming to Fall Orientation 2018.
