ARCHIBUS — It’s getting an upgrade

Improvements coming to the online tool to report building- and grounds-related issues on campus

Everybody loves a good makeover, right? After serving the UCalgary campus for more than 15 years, Facilities is completing another upgrade for ARCHIBUS, UCalgary’s online service request tool for building- and grounds-related issues, on Sept. 26.

ARCHIBUS will not be available from Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 12 p.m. to Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 a.m. as the upgrade is completed. During this time, contact the Customer Care Centre with service requests at 403.220.7555 or email myfacilities@ucalgary.ca.

Post-makeover, a new interface will be available when customers log in to ARCHIBUS. The system upgrade will improve the customer experience, providing:

  • a streamlined service request interface;
  • the ability to track service request progress; and,
  • tailored communications throughout the process.

“Facilities is committed to responding proactively to the needs of the university community; our goal is to deliver best-in-class professional and technical services,” says Steven Gasser, associate vice-president (facilities management). “Our team evaluated the current system and identified the need to update ARCHIBUS with the latest out-of-the-box software package. ARCHIBUS is a fast and easy way to submit a Facilities service request — and it is now improved.”

Facilities provides an extensive list of services to the campus community, including: building issues and managing construction projects; caretaking; real estate inquiries; architecture and design; and, recycling and waste management.

How to submit a service request

Everyone can submit a service request for facility issues related to plumbing, maintenance, cleanliness, sorting and recycling waste, construction and hazards. Submit a service request through ARCHIBUS using these steps:

  1. Click “Report Problem”.
  2. Enter the values for all applicable fields (required fields are designated with a red asterisk).
  3. Enter the location of the problem.
  4. Enter the type of problem from the dropdown lists available.
  5. Enter a description of the problem.
  6. Click on the “Submit” button to submit the work request.
