"Sochi Lounge" at University of Calgary Olympic Oval

Live broadcast of Sochi Games with teammates, coaches and parents begins Feb 7

Feb. 4, 2014

Even if you can't make it to Sochi for the Winter Olympic Games, you can at least get the feeling of being there at the University of Calgary, Olympic Oval's "Sochi Lounge."

The lounge opens its doors Friday February 7th at 6 a.m. with an Opening Ceremonies reception. Everyone is invited to join us for the fun as CBC radio will be broadcasting the Calgary EyeOpener live on location, and Breakfast TV's Jill Belland will also be on-site.

Athletes, coaches, parents and friends of our Olympic teams have all been invited to the lounge. We believe it will be the most exciting place to view the Games, outside of Sochi.

The lounge will be open weekdays February 7 - 21, during the Games, except for Monday February 17, when the Oval hosts a special edition of the Family Fun Day skate from 12 - 4 p.m. Please note the lounge will open early for all speed skating events, otherwise hours are from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Sochi Lounge is located on the lower level of the Olympic Oval, next to the skate shop. Everyone is invited and admission is free.
