Q&A with Dhwani Joshi, Education undergrad

When the pandemic broke out, Dhwani was on exchange for a study abroad term at the University of Leicester, in the United Kingdom.

What was your experience before the pandemic?

My experience prior to the pandemic had been great. I got involved in dance, my flatmates were all very nice, and I made strong bonds with new friends.

How did your study abroad experience end?

My study abroad experience ended quite abruptly and even though it was understandable as to why I must return home, it was still disappointing to have my time in the UK cut in half. I had been on my term for three months before I was told to return due to COVID-19 precautions.

What was your return trip like?

My return trip was full of caution at the airport. I received support from my family upon my return home since I had to make sure I was isolated for the required 14 days.

How did the University of Calgary assist you in your return?

The University of Calgary assisted me by ensuring I had adequate sources to support any health or educational concerns.
