Diversity and Inclusion Drives Innovation

Myth: Innovation has nothing to do with diversity; it's about individual genius.

Reality: Inclusive environments foster innovation by bringing together different perspectives and ideas. This leads to more creative problem-solving and breakthroughs in research and development.

The research and experience suggest diversity and intentional inclusivity can drive innovation. The research also highlights the “diversity innovation paradox,” that is, how exclusion continues to circumscribe teams and institutions benefitting from diversity. EDI’s need to identify and ameliorate biases, barriers and discrimination is necessary to unlock this untapped, and even wasted talent.
