Increasingly across the university, recognition is understood and valued as an integral contributor to employee engagement. Within faculties, schools and departments a diverse range of contacts may be assigned to coordinate participation in various university-wide programs such as U Make a Difference Awards, Long Service Award Program or simple, daily recognition like sending an eNote or a congratulatory card on a job well done.
Recognition Champions Network was created through an open call in June 2016. Recognition Champions are University of Calgary faculty and staff who are committed to acknowledging the great work that is happening across campus. These champions exist in faculties and units across campus to help improve recognition practices at the University of Calgary.
The Recognition Champions framework illustrates the Network’s purposes and how they are connected to the university’s strategic goals.
