Waterton Glacier International Peace Park was declared a World 
Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural 
Organization (UNESCO). These two national parks were designated by law the 
world's first International Peace Park in 1932.  Located on the 
Alberta/Montana border and offering outstanding scenery, the parks are 
exceptionally rich in plant and mammal species as well as in alpine and 
glacial features.
