In-person exams cancelled Dec. 20-22

On Dec. 19, President McCauley informed the campus community that in-person exams are being cancelled.

All in-person exams are cancelled from Monday, Dec. 20 to Wednesday, Dec. 22. Previously scheduled online exams (noted as online in the Fall 2021 Exam Schedule) will continue as originally planned.

You can read the full announcement here.

Here are further details on what this means for courses that had in-person exams scheduled for these days.

  • Cancelled exams will not be rescheduled or moved to another format.
  • For multi-section courses that may already have an online section, students who were designated to write the in-person exam will not be required to write the online exam from the online section.
  • Final marks for students in courses with cancelled in-person final exams will be calculated based upon work completed during the term.
  • Students who have had their in-person exam cancelled, and who would still like to write the exam, can request a deferral up until January 7, 2022.
  • If a final exam is required for the course to meet accreditation requirements, that exam may be offered online in January 2022 during the deferred exam period. You will be notified by December 23, 2021, if this is the case for your course.
  • While the final three days of in-person exams are being cancelled, exams that had originally been scheduled online during these last three days will continue online.
  • For online exams that were scheduled to be written in-person in a designated exam space, those exams should go forward and be completed remotely where possible.

If you have any further questions, we encourage you to contact your course instructor.
