This will be Mark Salkeld’s Second 3 Year Term on the University of Calgary Senate and he already knows it will be an exciting and rewarding experience based on all of the excellent experiences from his first term.
Along with Mark’s previous experience as a member of the Senate Development Committee and Chair of the Honors Committee, Mark also brings close to 40 years of domestic and international oil and gas energy industry experience to the position.
Over the years Mark assumed progressively senior positions in oilfield equipment maintenance, operations, procurement and business development, locally and internationally. Mark has worked onshore and offshore around the world, added to his education to include a Business Management Diploma and a MBA. As well Mark headed up the Petroleum Services Association of Canada for 7 years before returning to the private sector to take on the role of VP, Business Development for CLEANTEK industries.
Mark is looking forward to returning to the University of Calgary Senate, getting reacquainted with everyone and contributing as much as possible to the continuous success of the Senate and the University.
