UPass FAQs

You are required to return the UPass sticker to the UPass Centre or Parking and Transportation Services by the date listed under Important UPass dates.

The official UPass is your current University of Calgary Unicard with a special non-transferable sticker attached on the card near your picture.
Transit representatives will be checking for both the sticker and that the picture matches the user. Each UPass sticker has a unique serial number. The sticker that you are issued is assigned to your card.

No. The pass is strictly non-transferable. Any and all stickers believed to be fraudulently used or altered will be immediately confiscated by transit authorities and turned over to the University of Calgary for further action.
It is important to know that Calgary Transit security will frequently be asking transit users to show their UPass and checking them closely to ensure the pictures and stickers are correct.

No. Because student status can change from term to term, the UPass will be issued each semester: Fall (September - December), Winter (January – April) and Spring/Summer (May – August).

We encourage every eligible student to get the sticker, just in case. (For car pool problems, car repairs, for social events where you don’t want to drive your car home, etc.)

No, in order to keep the fee as low as possible and to encourage the use of public transit, no one is exempt. The park and ride lots at the CTrain stations may be a viable option for you.

Calgary Transit Lost & Found are open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. They are located at 224 7 Ave S.W. You can contact them via phone 403.268.1600 or email.

Co-op and Internship students are eligible to participate in the UPass program but must contact Enrolment Services, in person or by phone, to opt in and have the fee assessed.

Once the opt in has been processed and you can see the UPass fee reflected in your general fees, wait 24 hours before picking up your UPass.
