Whether you’re a full-time, part-time or a when-I-have-time hustler, the ins and outs of business taxes are quite different than your personal taxes.

UCalgary alumna Noreen Irvine, CMC, BSc’92, will help you navigate small-business risks and rewards, and guide you in the world of filing your taxes for a small business.

You can expect to learn more about:

  • sole proprietorship vs. when to incorporate
  • what qualifies as a deductible expense
  • risks associated with owning your own business
  • shift from employment to consulting
  • what the new legislation in 2016 means to you

What’s the key to buying your first home?

Learning mortgage basics before you start house hunting can save you a lot of money.

UCalgary alumnus Nolan Matthias, BA’06, and his wife, Jen, owners of Mortgage360, will guide this free seminar and help you save on your mortgage by teaching you about:

  • interest rates
  • different types of lenders
  • short-term versus long-term rates
  • variable versus fixed rates

“Our clients typically see a savings of $50,000-$90,000 over their mortgage’s lifetime by making a few educated decisions,” says Nolan.

Seminar participants will receive a free copy of Nolan’s latest book, The Mortgaged Millionaire.
