Flag Raising Ceremony
Join us for the University of Calgary's 2026 Pride Flag Raising Ceremony. This significant event marks the commencement of UCalgary Pride Week. We will have music, treats, and student, faculty and senior leadership representatives to help launch Pride Week 2026 in a meaningful way.

Location: The Flag poles are located at the south entrance of UCalgary (University Drive and 24th Ave NW).
Pride Picnic
Bring a blanket and your own lunch and join us for a picnic! We’ll have games, music, community resources and sweet treats for the first 500 attendees.

Pride Zine & Button Making
Presented by the Cumming School of Medicine Precision Equity & Social Justice Office (PESJO) and the Calgary Zine Club
Zines are small, DIY publications with a long history of amplifying voices and building community, including within 2SLGBTQ+ communities. Drop in and create your own zine or pronoun button with supplied materials and guidance, and connect to community. Not into crafts? We'll also have Pride trivia and prizes.

Pride & Glide
Celebrate Calgary Pride on The Fastest Ice in the World™ with an evening of public skating at the Olympic Oval. Dress up, show your colours and hit the ice with friends, family and allies. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or just coming out for some fun, everyone is welcome.

Decolonizing Transgender History: The View from the Asia Pacific
Presented by the Calgary Institute for the Humanities
In partnership with the Calgary Public Library, UCalgary Alumni, and the Calgary Foundation, and as part of Calgary Pride Week, the Calgary Institute for the Humanities will host Dr. Howard Chiang, University of California, Santa Barbara, who will be giving a talk titled “Decolonizing Transgender History: The View from the Asia Pacific.”

Straight A's & Slays: A Pride Drag Brunch

Kick off Pride and the new semester with brunch, drag, and plenty of slays!
Join us for Straight A’s & Slays: A Pride Drag Brunch, a pride filled morning celebrating queer joy, community, and the end of summer.
Hosted by Holtasoli, with show-stopping performances from headliners Karla Marx and Smokey Waters.
Admission is pay what you can, with 100% of proceeds donated to Skipping Stone. Your ticket also includes brunch.
