Willie Ermine

Willie Ermine is an Assistant Professor of Indigenous Studies and Education at the First Nations University of Canada and an Ethicist/Researcher for the Indigenous Peoples' Health Research Centre. His primary focus as an Ethicist / Researcher is to promote ethical practices of research involving Indigenous peoples with particular interest in the conceptual development of the "ethical space"-a theoretical space between cultures and  worldviews.


Lars Hallstrom

Lars Hallstrom is the Canada Research Chair in Public Policy and Governance and an Associate Professor at St. Francis Xavier University. He is engaged in comparative policy research about genetically modified foods, natural resources, and wastes. His research focuses on how political participation affects governance and environmental policy in multi-level political systems in order to understand the relationships among scientific knowledge, policymaking, and citizens.


 

Mary Pat MacKinnon  

Mary Pat Mackinnon is the Director of Ascentum, a professional services firm specializing in informed citizen and stakeholder participation. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa. She served as Director for Citizen Engagement at the Canadian Policy Research Network for 5 years, where she led projects on citizen dialogue, as well as a multiyear research program on citizen involvement in government decision-making and democratic life.


Terry McIntyre

Terry McIntyre is the Chief of the Environmental Biotechnology Applications Division for Environment Canada. He is a professional agrologist and has worked on a number of international biotechnology projects, and has also authored seven book chapters and over 250 scientific and technical papers and presentations.


Shauna Sylvester 

Shauna Sylvester is the Director of Canada's World - a national dialogue on Canadian International policy, and a Fellow at Simon Fraser University WOSK Centre for Dialogue. She also co-founded IMPACS - the Institute for Media, Policy and Civil Society, a charitable organization devoted to strengthening democracy by increasing the voice and profile of civil society and advancing media freedom internationally. 

 

 


Stephen Strauss

Stephen Strauss is an award-winning science and technology journalist, and wrote for the Globe and Mail for over 20 years. He has written three books, several book chapters, and has also served on Health Canada’s Science Advisory Board.
