Ingenious, a book celebrating 150 years of Canadian innovation, launches April 5 on campus

Governor General David Johnston and co-author Tom Jenkins on hand for event
March 30, 2017

Canadians have a knack for innovation, and our prosperity as a nation is more dependent than ever on fresh ideas. As a way to spark new waves of creativity leading to the next innovations, Governor General David Johnston and Tom Jenkins have co-authored Ingenious, a book about hundreds of Canadian innovations that have made the world a smarter, smaller, kinder, safer, healthier, wealthier, and happier place.

His Excellency, along with Jenkins, will be touring the country in support of the book and on Wednesday, April 5 the University of Calgary will host the Calgary launch of the book. The event will include a special question and answer session with the co-authors followed by a book signing.

The University of Calgary is poised to launch the next generation of social and technological innovators and entrepreneurs who will energize our city, our province and our world. Showcases sharing University of Calgary innovation, highlighting teaching and learning methods, student projects, and advances in research including spin-out companies will also be on display.

Space is limited for this event so please RSVP today.

Read more about the book from Penguin Random House, or see a recent Globe and Mail feature.
