Students, faculty and staff are invited to nominate an outstanding graduating student for a 2015 President’s Award of Excellence in Student Leadership.

There are up to five awards presented each year at convocation ceremonies in May, June and November, and both undergraduate and graduate students qualify. The deadline for online nominations is March 3, 2015.

"We have some amazing students," said Susan Barker, vice-provost (student experience). "We know that many of them make outstanding contributions to the community through volunteer work as well as helping fellow students. When they do this alongside high academic achievement, it is right and proper that we acknowledge their efforts in making this world a better place as the whole of the University of Calgary family benefits from such selfless leadership.”

Nominators must have consent from the students whose names are put forward to the selection committee, which has representation from the Students’ Union and the Graduate Students’ Association. The nomination also requires three supporting letters of reference from students, faculty or staff at the University of Calgary.
