Thinking About Withdrawing From A Course?

• Your instructors are required to tell you what your current ‘earned grades’ are at least one week prior to the deadline to withdraw from courses (Nov 28/09 for Weekend U courses, Dec 8/09 for regular classes).  
• If you decide it would be better to drop a course than receive a low or failing grade, you need to withdraw from it by the deadline through your online student centre.   
• This means that you will receive a ‘W’ grade (withdraw) on your transcript which has no GPA value, but it also means that you do not get a refund for the course.  
• You can have 5.0 full course equivalents (ten half courses) of W’s in your degree before you are required to withdraw completely from the U of C .
