Will I get a tax receipt?

If you donated via cheque, cash or credit card you will receive your tax receipt by mail from United Way. Tax receipts are issued by Feb. 28, 2017 except for payroll donations (which are instead recorded on your T4).

United Way issues tax receipts in accordance with CRA regulations. Examples of events that are non-receiptable include: participation or entry fee to an event, home made gifts, used items, purchase of a raffle ticket, or a silent auction purchase. Who do I make cheques payable to?

Please makes cheques payable to: United Way of Calgary and Area.

Can I direct my donation to a particular investment area?

Yes! United Way is pleased to offer you the choice to direct your donation to one of three investment areas: From poverty to possibility; Healthy people, strong communities; or All that kids can be

Can I consolidate my annual charitable contributions?

Through either your online donation or paper pledge form, you can choose to direct your United Way donations to any registered Canadian charity. 

This way, you can bring all your annual charitable contributions to one place, whether it's through a payroll deduction (appears on your T4), credit card donation or cheque. This makes your annual donations easy to do and easy to keep track of!

This means you are helping charities you feel passionate about AND contributing to the university's United Way campaign. A win-win for all!

Please note, a $12 processing fee will be subtracted from your donation for each designation.
