The scholarly introduction to the CD-ROM version of the hypertext Book of the Duchess is not posted on this site (to preserve copyright). By way of introduction of the Web sample, all that is really necessary to say is that it attempts to provide as much as possible of the content of the CD without breaching copyright in such a way as to endanger sales of the CD.
