Canada and India deepen education ties:

The Canadian province of Alberta and India state of Maharashtra signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Education and Technology during the Alberta-Maharashtra Roundtable on November 17 in Mumbai. Mel Wong, Assistant Deputy Minister for Alberta Advanced Education and Technology, and Dattatreya Sawant, Maharashtra's Minister of State for Medical Education, Higher and Technical Education, Non-Conventional Energy and Special Assistance Program, formalized the MoU to facilitate closer working relationship between Alberta and Maharashtra in higher and post-secondary education, research and commercialization.

News Release - Canada announces new Super Visa for families

Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents will have a new option for visiting Canada – the new Super Visa. The new Parent and Grandparent Super Visa will be valid for up to 10 years and will allow an applicant to remain in Canada for up to 24 months at a time without the need to renew of their status. Visa officers expect to issue Super Visas within eight weeks of application. Successful applicants will be required to obtain private Canadian health care insurance for their stay in Canada. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.asp
