Program Description
Participation in the Spanish Language and Culture Program immerses students in a rich, challenging environment that allows for valuable experiential learning. This program, in partnership with Universidad de las Americas-Puebla, provides students the opportunity to learn not only the depths of Spanish language and Mexican culture, but also about themselves and their role in Canadian culture. This forms the basis for the development of intercultural skills, which is fundamental to the group study program.
Students will attend classes and live on campus residences with Mexican students. Weekend excursions will take them to Mexico City, Guanajuato and Veracruz to experience the diversity of the regions and people within the host country. The content of the courses offered on this program along with the hands-on experiences with Mexican culture will be of interest to students studying Spanish, Latin American culture and history, anthropology and archaeology.
