Program Description
This Group Study Program offers participants the opportunity to study the Italian language while being immersed in the culture and history of the city of Perugia. One of the most well preserved and beautiful medieval town in the world, this small Umbrian city is especially reputed for its history, institutions, natural and artistic beauties.
Participants will take classes at the prestigious University of Perugia, the oldest Italian institution devoted to teaching, researching and the diffusion of the Italian language and culture. Student accommodations will be arranged in comfortable apartments in the heart of Perugia and within walking distance to the University. The program includes various visits to areas of importance related to immersion in the Italian culture. Those who are interested in history, archaeology, music, art, art history, business and linguistics will benefit greatly from this experience.
Itinerary
Upon arrival in Perugia, students will be placed in the proper level for language instruction and will attend classes at the University of Perugia during the week.
Concerts, cine forums, and local festivals, such as Calendimaggio in Assisi and Corsa Dei Ceri in Gubbio, will allow students to deepen their understanding of Italian life and culture. Weekends will be reserved for excursions and individual activities.
Field Trips: Day trips to nearby Umbrian and Tuscan cities will include Arezzo, Assisi, Siena, Gubbio, and Todi. An overnight in Florence and a weekend in Rome will conclude this memorable experience in Italy.

Registration two courses is required. One course must be ITAL 309 or ITAL 409.
