What can I recycle or compost and where?
There are 19 waste streams that the university diverts from landfill and a number of recycling programs and services available to the university community. For more information see our recycling information webpage and click on the waste stream in question.
How do I request a one time pick up of a bulky item or a large volume of recyclables?
You can request the pick up of furniture, ewaste, a large volume of recyclables (ie. books, CDs) as follows:
1. Login to the My U of C portal at www.my.ucalgary.ca
2. Click on Enterprise Systems > Supply Chain Management > Supply Chain

3. Complete the Equipment/Furniture Disposal Service Request Form
How do I request more frequent pick up of a recycling or compost bin?
If a recycling or compost bin in your area is often full and requires more frequent pick up please submit an Archibus Request to Facilities Management and Development (FMD) and provide a detailed description of the bin's location. You can also contact the FMD Customer Care Centre at (403) 220-7555 or fmdcustomercare@ucalgary.ca
How do I report a leak?
If you spot a leaky faucet or toilet please call the FMD Customer Care Centre (403) 220-7555 or email fmdcustomercare@ucalgary.ca
