The Student Success Centre offers a variety of services to help graduate students designed to assist students with creating a meaningful career and life following graduation and address the various stages of the career development process.

Though students are free to access this service at any time, students are encouraged to attend relevant workshops when available in addition to attending individual advising appointments.
Graduate Career and Work Success Workshop Series are offered during the fall and winter semesters. These are engaging, interactive sessions designed to help you achieve your career goals. The workshops encompass the full spectrum of career planning from the initial stage of self awareness to the final stage of negotiating a job offer. Workshops are typically 75 minutes long and begin promptly at noon. Workshops are free but registration is required and enrolment is limited.
Drop in resume, CV, and cover letter writing sessions are offered at various times of the year by trained volunteers. Students are served on a first come, first served basis. Students receive up to 30 minutes of individualized support by trained volunteers and one issue is addressed per drop- in session.
The career development process is presented below as a linear, stepwise model, beginning with self assessment and ending with securing employment. In reality, career development is a complex, dynamic process in which individuals often move back and forth between stages or chose to focus on a stage that is most pertinent to their current needs. Some students may elect to focus on a higher stage, whereas other students may elect to focus on earlier stages For a description of each stage and a listing of available resources to assist you, click on the relevant stage of interest.
Earn a certificate in Leadership and Professional Skills. Build valuable skills and make yourself more marketable to employers. This certificate will appear on your co-curricular record and can be added to your resume to demonstrate the work you have completed to enhance your career opportunities and employability.
