Search Tips

Searchable fields:

• Title -  the title of a photograph as it appears in Philip Sidney Smith's albums
• Photographer - the individual responsible for the creation of the photograph 
• Subject - the keywords and key phrases that describe the photograph 
• Photo Location - the country, state/province, and division in which a photograph was taken 
• Photo Date - the date the photograph was created

Browse: displays the contents of the entire collection sorted alphabetically by title.

Advanced search: allows customized searches by combining up to four of the above mentioned fields at one time.  It is also possible to search across multiple collections simultaneously. For example, to search the Philip Sidney Smith Collection of Photographs and the Arctic Institute of North America, click the check boxes next to the collection names. To remove a collection from a search, uncheck the box.
