If a student’s account is on hold for fees owing, some services will be restricted. For example, a student cannot obtain transcripts nor register for courses when their account is on hold for fees owing. Fees owing can include tuition or general fees, or can also include charges like parking tickets, library fines, lab breakage fees, missed appointments, etc.
Outstanding fees must be paid to the office where the fee was generated (i.e. parking fees are paid to the parking office, library fees to the library circulation desk, lab charges to the appropriate department who levied the charge, etc).
A tax receipt can be issued to a student who has outstanding fees falling in that tax year, but only for fees that were actually paid.
After the account is 120 days past due, an external collection agency will be involved.
Students will also be subject to late fees and penalties. For more information, click here.
