Text Message Notification
The U of C has introduced an emergency text messaging system designed to ensure the ongoing safety of students. This system will only be used in the case of an emergency and will use a short text message sent directly to cell phones of those who have signed up. There is NO COST to sign up for this service.
To sign up for this service:
- Sign onto your Peoplesoft Student Centre
- Select "current home phone" under the "personal information bar"
- Select "add a phone number"
- From the pull down menu under the "phone type" column heading select "emergency text message number".
- Enter in the number of the phone to which you normally receive text messages. The number must be entered in the format of area code / phone number eg 403/555-1221
- Select "save".
