Oracle Media Objects:
National beta seeding
and financial grant program
Oracle has announced a nationwide Challenge Grant program to which New Media
Centers within institutions of higher education may apply. Oracle will award
a total of one million dollars to developers who use Oracle Media Objects
to create interactive multimedia instructional applications designed to
teach students a segment of the K-12 curriculum.
Media Objects is a new authoring tool that allows developers to:
- combine text, images, audio, animation, and video in CD-ROM titles and
other stand-alone applications
- quickly build video-oriented user interfaces.
The Round One grant is a K-12 educational concept development award of $25,000.
Twenty grants will be awarded on Feb. 15, 1995. The Round Two grant is open
to winners from Round One; it is a K-12 implementation grant of $75,000
which will be awarded on May 15, 1995 to five winners. The remaining $25,000
will be awarded upon receipt of a final product on or before January 15,
1996.
The Round One postmark deadline is February 1, 1995. The Round Two postmark deadline is May 1, 1995. You must apply and succeed in round one to be considered for round two.
