The Student Resource Centre
and IT and You

In our November, 1994 issue of New Currents in Teaching and Technology , Volume 1.1, we did not mention the involvement of the Student Resource Centre (SRC) in the university's IT and You project. In our listing of New Media Centre projects, the IT and You Project was described as a joint project of the New Media Centre, the Library, and University Computing Services. The Student Resource Centre staff members also played an important role in this project, and we apologize for the oversight in not mentioning their involvement. As Janice Bakal said, "This project was certainly something that we could not have done without their cooperation and assistance. Basically, the Student Resource Centre provided the opportunity and assisted with the logistics of working with the number of students that participated in the program."

The Student Resource Centre has been a leader in the adoption of emerging technologies for the delivery of services to students and in the development of programs to offset the potentially dehumanizing impact of new information technologies on students. The involvement of the SRC in the IT and You program for students was pivotal.
