Dean of Nursing

The University of Calgary is currently engaged in a recruitment process for a new Dean for the Faculty of Nursing. The mandate of the Search Committee is to recruit a pool of candidates whose attributes, experience and qualifications meet the Faculty’s and the University’s needs and to formulate a recommendation to the President on the appointment of the new Dean. To ensure that they best fulfill this mandate, committee members agreed it was necessary to seek advice from a variety of stakeholders with respect to the following questions:

1. What issues and challenges face academic nursing in the next 5-10 years?

2. What characteristics, attributes and qualifications does the candidate need in order to successfully fulfill the Dean’s role at the University of Calgary?

3. Who are the potential candidates, or sources of information about candidates, we could contact?

In order to assist the Committee with the search we have retained the services of Dr. Dan Birch of Janet Wright and Associates.
