Location:
MSC 487 - The Loft

Drop in for an interactive session consisting of simulated exercises designed to mimic the various barriers that persons with disabilities may experience in the workplace and everyday life. Each simulation is designed to heighten awareness of disabilities, demonstrate assistive technology, and provide an opportunity to increase communication and awareness about disabilities at work and everyday life.

Diverse-ABILITIES is a fun, interactive and barrier-free event that will open up the conversation and allow you to put yourself in the shoes of someone with a disability. Simulation activities include:

  • Hand agility simulations to demonstrate limited mobility and motor skills in the hands
  • Vision impairment activities to demonstrate limited or no vision
  • Learning disability simulation to demonstrate challenges with reading and processing information
  • Lower body impaired mobility simulation
