University launches equity review: call for committee members

This fall, the University of Calgary (Provost’s Office) is launching a review of equity-related services and are looking for one academic and one non-academic staff member to sit on the committee.

Alberta Global Forum

As China grows in importance as a global economic power, Alberta finds itself in the eye of the dragon. Alberta Global Forum takes place Oct. 2 at the Glenbow Museum. 

To the Point

Betty W. Rice will be joining the School of Policy Studies as the associate director, communications and educational programming, effective Oct. 1. Rice comes to the university after a successful 15-year career with the U.S. Consulate General where she was responsible for the conception, creation, development, and continual growth of all United States government public affairs programming in Calgary, with responsibility for Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories. 

Roberto F. Aguilera, BComm ’01, is a program officer and research scholar at Global Energy Assessment (GEA), Energy Program International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Laxenburg, Austria. He recently released a book titled The Availability of Global Fossil Energy. >> more info
