Dinos football host playoff game

For the first time since 2002, the University of Calgary Dinos will host a football playoff game and their guests will be all too familiar.

The Dinos will host a Canada West semifinal on Sunday, Nov. 2 at McMahon Stadium, kicking off at 1 p.m. against the Regina Rams.

Calgary has hosted just two playoff games since the 1995 Vanier Cup championship. Both times (2000 and 2002) they faced the Regina Rams and both times they lost—first a heartbreaking 33-32 decision in 2000, followed by a 39-17 defeat in 2002. The program continues to search for its first post-season victory since that 1995 national title game.

The Canada West semifinal will be presented by Calgary Co-op with the support of the Dinos Football 5th Quarter association. For the first time at a playoff game, tickets will be provided free to all University of Calgary students, staff, and faculty who present valid ID at the McMahon Stadium box office on game day. The Dinos Football 5th Quarter is also sponsoring a tuition draw worth $2,500 for all U of C students in attendance at the game.

Tickets will also be available starting Sunday at all Calgary Co-op customer service locations and online at www.goDINOS.com. Phone orders will be taken starting Monday morning at (403) 220-7749. Adult tickets are just $5, with four-person family packs available for $10. A portion of the proceeds will go to support Calgary Minor Football.
