Seasonal flu clinic open today
In response to demand from University of Calgary students, staff and faculty, the Students’ Union Wellness Centre is holding another seasonal flu vaccination clinic today at MacEwan Student Centre. Click here to make an appointment. If pre-booked appointment times are full, you are encouraged to go on a drop-in basis.

U of C looms large in Top 40
The University of Calgary plays a commanding role in Avenue magazine’s 2009 Top 40 Under 40 list, with more than half of those named having ties to the campus community. In the magazine’s November issue, 18 U of C alumni, seven faculty members and a support staffer are named to this year’s list of up-and-coming influencers and civic leaders. 

A passion for family medicine
As the new president of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the University of Calgary’s Dr. Cathy MacLean plans to address the national shortage of family physicians by exposing students to all that this specialty has to offer.

Osteoporosis is often known as “the silent thief” because bone loss occurs without symptoms. At today’s Lunch and Learn, RN Pat Hodgins discusses the diagnosis and management of osteoporosis, the risk factors and what can be done to prevent the disease.

As the University of Calgary’s United Way campaign continues with many more events to come, remember that a mere $5 provides a week of breakfast to a child who would otherwise go to school hungry.

Dinos finish season 7-1
The University of Calgary’s Dinos football team won the last game of the regular season Saturday and heads into the conference playoffs tied for first place. “We have some momentum heading into the playoffs,” said head coach Blake Nill. Read on for highlights of all Dinos weekend action.
