The MarCom Awards program is run annually by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals and attracts 5,000 entrants globally, making it the largest competition of its kind in the world. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.
“We’re all very proud of the work we do to tell the U of C story and to catch the attention of our target audiences in ways that are relevant, unique and believable,” says Catherine Bagnell Styles, associate vice-president, external relations. “To also know that our work holds its own against the best work across industries and geography is particularly rewarding.”
“It’s an incredible honour to receive these awards but truly, our diverse group of clinicians, teachers and scientists have some pretty amazing stories and we love to talk about them,” says Jody MacPherson, the Faculty of Medicine’s director of communications and media relations. “Winning awards for our work is like the icing on the cake for us.”
