Sam Effah won the Dr. Fred Tees Memorial Award for outstanding athlete enrolled at a Canadian university—marking the fifth consecutive year a U of C athlete has won the award.
Results: Cut the Carbs Commuter Challenge
During the week-long commuter challenge (Oct. 27 to 31) U of C students, staff, and faculty logged an average of over 45 kilometres travelled per person. Among those, the U of C staff had the highest participation rate. It was an encouraging sight that more than 63 percent of all entries used low to zero emission transportation modes such as walking, biking, or taking the C-train (C-Train, among its other advantages, is 100% wind-powered).
