EVDS hits international festival
"We had the honor to be among the two dozen schools worldwide that were invited by the event organizers in Italy to exhibit student projects created using new digital techniques," said Kolarevic, EVDS Professor and Chair in Integrated Design. "That invitation alone is a confirmation that our architecture program is on the cutting edge of developments in digital design." This year's edition of the festival will again feature the most advanced visualizations in architecture and debate on the relationships between the project and the means of its communication. A great opportunity for EVDS to show its talent, the festival will include lectures, workshops, exhibits, debates, and video presentations. Professors will showcase student work in SPOT ON SCHOOLS, an exhibition curated by Paola Giaconia. Professors Johnson, Kolarevic, Parlac and Taron are designing the installation with the support of EVDS and the Laboratory for Integrated Design. "Participating in the exhibition gives the school and its students an opportunity to display their work in the context of the world's most innovative and exciting architecture programs while marketing the program on a global level," said Josh Taron, Assistant Professor. SPOT ON SCHOOLS explores state-of-the-art and cutting edge research in the field of digital technologies in architectural education; installations by several architecture schools will investigate the didactics in the field of architectural design and of the new media of communication.
The third edition of the SPOT ON SCHOOLS exhibition will offer a fresh outlook on the productions of the most prestigious architecture schools in the world. It will focus on the most recent developments, in the field of education, of the use of digital technologies for design research.
