The Office of Leadership and Student Engagement (LSE) and the Centre for Community-Engaged Learning (CCEL) have moved to a new temporary location on the second floor of the MacKimmie Library Block (MLB). The new offices will be located in MLB 219 while extensive renovations are made to the fourth floor of the MacEwan Student Centre (MSC).

These offices will be open in their new location beginning Wednesday, Jan. 16.

Along with these significant changes, the University of Calgary will also be opening a Student Services Information Counter to help answer any questions about student services on campus and to direct traffic to the new office locations. The new information counter, which will be staffed by student volunteers, will use the currently empty service desk located on the second floor of the MLB. This service desk will be open 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

“In the short term, this is a beneficial move for the LSE and CCEL,” says Erin Kaipainen, director of Student Leadership Development and Engagement. “There will be increased visibility for our offices, and the service desk will provide students with one more way to get involved with leadership and service-learning programs."

For the time being, access to the fourth floor of the MSC will be restricted to the Exam Centre. Renovations to the MSC are being made as part of an overall plan by the University of Calgary to improve student access to important university services.
