Divided into three streams—personal development, professional development and financial literacy—and topics from personal brand and building confidence to post-graduate options and financial planning, Graduating This Year’s 15 workshops are aimed at helping the Class of 2012 make a successful transition to life after university. “Moving on from university can be a scary transition,” says 2012 Class Ambassador and fourth-year neuroscience student Nicole Cousins. “Graduating This Year is here to make it as smooth as possible.” The kick off continues at Mac Hall on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and in the Social Sciences building on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All students are invited to drop by to learn more about Graduating This Year’s 2012 workshops and events. “Being successful is about more than finding a job,” says Pam Aranas, alumni programming officer for Alumni Relations, which produces Graduating This Year. “We want to help students recognize their passions and strength while building their personal brand and confidence to help them achieve their goals.” Look for the yellow and red signs around campus this week and visit www.graduatingthisyear.com for workshop details and registration. Graduating This Year is sponsored by the University of Calgary Alumni Association and generous on campus and community partners. |
