Thomas Lui, BComm’06, has been recognized by PricewaterhouseCoopers as the 2008 PWC Calgary Volunteer of the Year for his outstanding community work. Lui participates in various fundraising activities for Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta and in 2008 co-chaired RMH's eighth annual Charity Golf Classic which raised $125,000.

Ronald McDonald House provides support to families of sick children and the golf tournament helps raise the necessary funding to provide a home away from home for families of children who are receiving treatment at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

PricewaterhouseCoopers will make a cash donation of $2,000 to Ronald McDonald House in recognition of Lui's achievements.

“Thomas is one of those very special people who makes the world a better place for everyone he interacts with,” says Marla Cohen, director of development at RMH. “His skills and natural ability to work with many different personalities continues to bring financial, volunteer and other stakeholders to the House.”

The company's volunteer recognition program is active in all PWC offices across Canada and gives staff the opportunity to nominate themselves for their volunteer efforts over the past year. Honourees are determined by a selection committee of their peers.
