Changes proposed to Universities Academic Pension Plan

UToday HomeApril 5, 2013

The Universities Academic Pension Plan (UAPP) is jointly sponsored by the four academic staff associations and boards of governors of the participating universities (Alberta, Athabasca, Calgary, and Lethbridge) and The Banff Centre. The UAPP provides pension benefits to eligible academic, senior leadership, and management and professional staff at the University of Calgary.

The sponsors of the UAPP have proposed changes to the pension plan that, if adopted, will only apply to pensions earned following the proposed effective date of January 1, 2015. They will not affect any UAPP pension entitlements earned before that date.

Details on the proposed changes and the schedule for employee information sessions, which start next week, may be found at www.ProposedChangesUAPP.ca. Additional information is also being sent directly to UAPP plan members.
