Swarm Art
When an artist and a computer scientist come together, strange things might happen. A fish would swim in a sea of neurons. Or is it the fish that is the mental image of the brain, formed by a simulated network of neurons? Or is the fish just a sculpture, not intended to look like anything specific? Everything is open to your imagination!
These images are two of the many results from an inspiring collaboration between Gerald Hushlak, BEd’66, from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Christian Jacob from the Faculty of Science. Programmer Scott Novakowski, BSc’06, has helped this interdisciplinary team to implement the fusion between art and science. More inspirational work from this collaborative endeavor is exhibited online at swarmart.com.
