| MARLA HALSTED, the front-of-house and gift shop manager at The Nickle Arts Museum, has worked full-time at U of C for just over one year but has worked on campus on-and-off since 1988. Her biggest challenge is developing the customer base for the gift shop and expanding the public’s awareness of the museum. “The museum shop is moving into international markets and I love that part of the job. There is nothing quite so rewarding as the positive feedback I’ve been receiving from the shop customers.” Halsted is taking marketing management classes through Continuing Education, raising her three sons and renovating her home. / Photo by Ken Bendiktsen |
