Calling all student poets

If Valentine’s Day inspired you to pen a poetic tribute to your loved one, or if scratching out poetry on any subject is an all-consuming passion, the new Poem-of-the-Month contest may just be the place to showcase your writing.

Open to all U of C students, the Poem-of-the-Month contest is part of this March’s English Department Month activities. Students can send their poem to maboyd@ucalgary.ca with the subject line: Poem of the Month. The poem should be sent as an attachment in RTF format, and must fit on a single page.

Deadline for entries is Friday, March 7, with the winning poem printed and distributed in poster format across campus on March 26. 

Organizers plan to begin the program full-time October through December 2008, and January through April 2009.
