Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Science to cross the stage

The University of Calgary will celebrate the success of their newest graduates in the faculties of medicine, nursing and science at its Spring Convocation ceremonies today.

Graduates and guests of the morning ceremony will hear from guest speaker Dr. Tom Feasby, the outgoing Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. In addition, one of Canada’s bestknown and trusted science journalists and host of CBC Radio’s Quirks and Quarks, Bob McDonald, will address the afternoon’s graduating classes from the Faculty of Science.

Graduates from the following faculties will receive their degrees today:

9:30 a.m. convocation:

  • Faculty of Medicine (BCR and BHSC)
  • Faculty of Nursing
  • Faculty of Graduate Studies for the following degrees:
    • Master of Biomedical Technology, Master of Community Medicine, Master of Disability and Community Studies, Master of Nursing, Master of Science and PhD in Medicine (MDBC, MDCH, MDCV, MDGI, MDIM, MDMI, MDNS and MDSC) and PhD in Nursing
  • Post Degree Continuous Learning: Nursing

2 p.m. convocation:

  • Faculty of Science
  • Faculty of Graduate Studies for the following degrees:
    • Master of Science and PhD from the departments/area of study in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geoscience, Interdisciplinary Graduate Program, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics and Astronomy, Sustainable Energy Development
  • · Post Degree Continuous Learning: Physics and Astronomy
