Calgary a staging ground for OlympiansTwenty-two years after hosting the 1988 Games, Calgary continues to serve as Canada’s Olympic medal factory for winter sport. On Friday, the Canadian Olympic Committee named 206 athletes to the team assigned to represent the home country at the 2010 Winter Games. In total, 108 of those men and women — or 52 per cent — were born, live or train in the Calgary region. |
