University of Calgary alumni share life lessons learned

Grad Day 2014 connects students with successful alumni offering insights into life after graduation

Jan. 24, 2014

Walking across the stage to accept a university degree is the culmination of years of hard work. What happens next?

The University of Calgary is connecting soon-to-be graduates with four outstanding alumni as part of Grad Day 2014, a power-packed day of career advice, inspiration and fun for the outgoing Class of 2014.

Cirque du Soleil head coach of resident shows Tom Otjes, engineering leader Joanna Desjardins; and award winning Canadian author Marcello Di Cintio will participate in an interactive alumni panel discussion to share their most salient bits of advice for post-university life.

Later in the day, W. Brett Willson will present a keynote address on lessons acquired throughout his career as one of Canada's best-known entrepreneurs, authors and philanthropists.

The alumni panel with Otjes, Desjardins and Di Cintio will begin at 11:45 a.m. and there will be interview opportunities with participants (panelists and student participants) when it concludes at approximately 1 p.m.

Media are also invited to attend the Life Lessons with W. Brett Wilson keynote beginning at 5 p.m. Interview opportunities are available with student and alumni keynote attendees.

Please note: Brett Wilson will not be in attendance at the earlier alumni panel.
