University of Calgary’s new solar car roomier and more practical

Jan. 31, 2013

The University of Calgary Solar Team will tomorrow morning unveil the prototype of its fourth- generation solar car, the Schulich Delta. This design is a radical departure from the group’s previous models. There’s even room for a passenger.

Until now, the team’s focus has been on building cars for racing. This time, the students aimed to make their vehicle more practical as well. The Schulich Delta has several new features that bring it much closer to the type of solar-powered vehicle that will be in widespread use one day.
