The Future: More than code

Technology rules our world and the University of Calgary is on the cutting edge. About 150 high school students are expected on campus to see how computers are changing society. Students will tour through six different labs in Computer Science Department and see how technology can recognize a person’s gait, measure the motion of a speed skater and interact with a virtual human.

What: High school student tour of six computer science labs

When: December 11, 2012, tours begin at 10:25 a.m.

Where:Tour starts at the University of Calgary, LINDSAY Virtual Human lab -- ICT 7th floor

Who: Mea Wang, associate professor computer science, researchers in the labs + some high school students have been approved to speak to the media
